Innovation.  This was the focus of the Spring Sitkins International Extreme Networking event in Boston, MA.  Held twice a year for its members, 100+ agencies and brokerages from the United States, Canada and Latin America come together to network and learn about the best practices of the industry.  Lacher & Associates had the privilege of both attending the event and having Mark Lacher, Partner, as one of the presenters. 

Lacher’s presentation, Innovation & New Product Development, focused on providing solutions to clients that went beyond traditional insurance placement.  Maura Derstein, Director of Sales, stated, “Mark addressed how individuals within our industry often limit the concept of risk management to just physical hazards, like identifying the proper building coverage.  However, Mark challenged Sitkins members to look at risk management from a holistic strategic risk perspective.” 

In his presentation, Lacher noted the top three concerns for organizations are people, profit and customers.  These concerns spur conversations around human resources, operations and sales.  Lacher shared how the creation of the Lacher & Associates Consulting division addresses these opportunities and provides solutions to clients for their overall organization and total risk management.  Innovative solutions to risk management was the theme of the event and changed the conversation on how agencies and brokerages can play a strategic role within their client’s organizations.
